12. Peer Review Process

When articles enter the journal, the editors read each manuscript. We strive to make the first decision on all manuscripts within one or two weeks after submission. During the first decision, the editors of the journal mainly check whether the manuscript is consistent with the objectives and scope of the journal and the minimum acceptable quality, and whether the manuscript complies with the journal’s instructions for authors. The editor decides whether to submit it for a full review. If the article is rejected before the full review, the authors are notified immediately after the decision by e-mail. We keep copies of rejected manuscripts for three months, after which we remove them from our system.

All submitted papers are subject to peer-review by international reviewers that are experts in the area of the particular paper. The journal operates a double-blind peer review process, meaning that authors and reviewers remain anonymous for the review process. The factors that the reviewers take into account in review are relevance, soundness, significance, originality, readability and language. The possible decisions include: accept, revision required, resubmit for review or decline.
